Salon des Refusés and more…
Many famous writers, artists and musicians have started their careers with rejection. A few examples are the Beatles, whose music was rejected by record label Decca, Astrid Lindgren, author of Pippi Longstocking was rejected by the Bonnier publishing house, and the Impressionists who were refused for the Art Salon in Paris. One thing they have in common – they were all groundbreakers and innovative, and had an enormous impact when they finally managed to reach out. Since then, their work has inspired people all over the world.
Recently an invitation was sent out to all artists who were refused for the Spring Salon at Liljevalchs (the major art event in Sweden every year) to participate in a Salon des Refusés this summer. I applied and was one of the artists accepted. The inauguration will be the weekend Friday, July 1 – Saturday July 2 – Sunday, July 3rd with a culturally festive inaugural program.

I will be there for the opening weekend. The exhibition promises to be exciting in depth as well as width and bubbling with creativity. The exhibition runs until October 2.
In other exciting news, I’ve been accepted for membership in The Swedish Artists´ National Organization (Konstnärernas Riksorganisation) KRO, www.kro.se
I’m honored to join this select group of professional artists.
During the summer, I’ll have several solo exhibitions, right in the midst of the tourism region at the height of the season, in naturally scenic Ydre, the culture town of Eksjö and the Crystal Kingdom’s Lessebo.
Press shows takes place on the days I hang the art:
Österbymo July 14
Lessebo July 29
Eksjö August 8
Next week I’ll be in Ireland to facilitate a professional ‘Shen and beyond’ therapist’s retreat.
